Fara1.5
Fara1.5 is Microsoft Research’s next-generation computer-use model family — three small models (4B, 9B, 27B) built on Qwen 3.5, with a flagship 9B recommended for most use cases. Designed for the parts of agentic work that happen in a browser — clicking, typing, filling forms, navigating credentialed sites — Fara1.5 sets a new state of the art (SOTA) among small computer‑use models on the Online‑Mind2Web benchmark, nearly doubling the performance of Fara‑7B from November. The larger Fara1.5-27B variant records 90+% on the same benchmark. In short, Fara1.5 brings frontier‑class web navigation into a footprint small enough to ship close to the user.
Fara1.5 is built for builders shipping computer-use agents — automation tools, browser copilots, and any application that needs an agent to operate real web UIs reliably. Daily-use scenarios drove the design: better form filling, smoother login flows, more robust handling of long-running tasks like booking and submitting. A native action space lets the model manage its own context across hundreds of steps and ask for permission or preferences when needed, while recalibrated critical points keep safety triggers firing on transactions and irreversible actions without blocking routine work. The result is a computer-use model tuned to be useful, not just benchmark-fluent.
